A Clean Room can be defined as a VOLUME where air pollutants are controlled within a desired range.
The 3 main features of a Clean Room are:
Physical barrier to contain a clean air volume.
Reduction to a minimum of the quantity of particles. This is achieved by air filters, as well as the proper selection of materials and equipment to prevent dust and particle generation.
Internal air pressure set higher than ambient, to prevent the entrance of external pollutants. This includes access procedures and suitable dressing for plant personnel.
